Indie Month Day 20 and TGIF: Glimmer by Erica Cherry Blossom

Welcome to another TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! Fridays make it so easy to continue my Indie month! :) Today I had a request from Emma over at Manicurity to swatch Glimmer by Erica: Cherry Blossom. So here it is!

Here is a layer skittle of Cherry Blossom. (l-r) Four coats, three coats, two coats, and one coat. Super easy to work with glitter that isn't too sparse but not quite enough for full coverage with four coats. Definitely a top coater. Which is I still absolutely love!

This is inspired by what else but cherry blossom trees in spring! It is a clear base with multiple sizes and shapes of different pinks and some small green hexes. And yes there is square glitter!

Here is a mani that I absolutely fell in love with! I used two coats of China Glaze Pelican Gray on all nails. Dude, Pelican has a gorgeous shimmer! I then used one coat of China Glaze Glistening Snow on my accent nail. I topped it all with one coat of Glimmer by Erica Cherry Blossom. You can see there was a bit of a glitter spreading problem on my index but that is more my fault than the polish. I had too much on the brush. Oops! >_<

A quick shot of the the shimmer in China Glaze Pelican Gray. So pretty!

I love Glimmer by Erica's Cherry Blossom. I do believe it is unique to my collection! It's such a perfect Spring top coat! And yes, it is still available at her shop!

You can purchase Cherry Blossom and many other fabulous polishes at Glimmer by Erica etsy shop.

Indie Month: Day 19 - Nostalgic Nail Lacquer Envy

Day 19 of Indie Month and another green brought to you by my awesome swap with Nailpolish is My Crack. Today it is Nostalgic Nail Lacquer: Envy. This is one in The Seven Deadly Sins Collection that came out last year.

As stated in yesterday's and Tuesday's posts I decided to do a quick mani showing the different aspects of this polish. I used two coats of China Glaze Recycle on my index and middle fingers. But I had to change it up with Envy because of it's formula. I used one coat of Nostalgic Nail Lacquer Envy index finger as well as one coat over my middle finger, applied as three coats over no undies on my ring finger, and one coat on my pinkie finger no undies.

As you can see the glitter placement with this polish is sparse, very sparse. Think more base than glitter on the brush. My pinkie, though one coat it fishing for glitters and applying them to certain parts of my nail. My index and middle fingers are true one coat application to show the randomness of the polish. Does this mean I don't like it? Nope. Not at all! I still like it because I love the glitters it has! The bars, not so much, but as I have to fish for them that isn't too much of a problem! :) With sparser glitter you can control the density of the glitter!

This glitter is, I believe, but I could be wrong here, a clear base but it looks a bit tinged when you apply 3 coats of it. But as it is more a top coat you don't even notice it as one coat! :) I really like the look of my middle finger, that glitter is just so pretty to me! Oh and my index finger looks like a bunny rabbit what with the two bar glitters crossed like a nose/mouth. :) This is made up of white, black, and green glitters so you can't go wrong with that combo! :)

This polish is unique to my collection!

This polish from what I can tell is not available anymore. Not sure if it was discontinued.

You can buy other awesome polishes when they restock (looks like in April) by visiting Nostalgic Nail Lacquer.

Indie Month: Day 18 - Glitzology Key Lime

Day 18 of my Indie Month and second day of my green Indies! Today I have for you, Glitzology: Key Lime. I also got this pretty in my swap with Nailpolish is My Crack. This is inspired by all things key lime!

Like I said in yesterday's post, I decided to do a quick mani showing the different aspects of this polish (this format will be seen in tomorrow's post as well). I used two coats of China Glaze Recycle on my index and middle fingers. Glitzology Key Lime is used as a french mani accent on my index finger, applied as one coat over my middle finger, applied as three coats over no undies on my ring finger, and one coat on my pinkie finger no undies. As you can see the pinkie one coat looks more sparse than the middle finger one coat. That is because this polish was a bit gloopy and I had more on the brush for my middle finger than I did for my pinkie. It's gloopy but not too gloopy, totally manageable.

Key Lime is packed with hexes, bars, squares, and shredded glitter! It is fabulous! So some of you may no of my relationship with bar glitter, not a huge fan here, but there is so much awesome going on with this polish that I am totally ok with the bars. And they are short and not ginormous, so that helps too! :)

The formula, as I mentioned above, is a bit gloopy. But it is manageable and totally works in your favor because it helps the glitter to make it out of the bottle and onto your nail for all to admire! :) See? Totally acceptable gloop! :)

Pretty sure this polish is unique-ish to my collection (it has bars!). But I love it and can't wait to use it in more manis!

This polish is still available over at Glitzology's etsy shop for $8.50.

Indie Month: Day 17 - Rainbow Honey Snake Eyes

Indie month continues with Rainbow Honey: Snake Eyes. I received this pretty in a swap with Nailpolish is My Crack. Snake Eyes is part of the Chrono Cross Collection.

I decided to do a quick mani showing the different aspects of this polish (this format will be seen in the next 2 posts over the next two days). I used two coats of China Glaze Recycle on my index and middle fingers. Rainbow Honey Snake Eyes is used as a french mani accent on my index finger, applied as one coat over my middle finger, applied as three coats over no undies on my ring finger, and one coat on my pinkie finger no undies.

I decided to do this format for a few reasons: today and the next two days I am reviewing green Indies and I wanted to compare them all for you, this shows a variety of uses and coverage, and I've been sick and needed to crank out some posts! Hahaha! Sorry! Oh and what's with the green you ask? Well, I got my days mixed up and thought St Patrick's Day was this Sunday coming up, not passed! Oops! Stupid cold making my head fuzzy! >_<

Rainbow Honey Snake Eyes is gorgeous! Just look at that shimmer in the base! It's a green-ish base with like a green/gold shimmer. It is filled with a bunch of different colors of glitter (purple, gold, pink, to name a few).

The formula was lovely! No issues and no glitter fishing as you can tell by the one coat on my middle and pinkie fingers! And it easily applied as a french tip accent! Win!

This polish is unique to my collection. And what do I love most about it? That shimmer! I really had no idea it had it until I applied it and then BAM! So pretty!

This polish is available on Rainbow Honey's site for $10.00

Liquidus Nail Gloss Spring Collection Review and Discount Code!

Today I thrilled to be able to review three amazing polishes from Liquidus Nail Gloss' Spring Collection! (and still continuing my Indie month!) Check out the 100% biodegradable packaging that Danielle uses! I love the slogan of "enjoy some fingernail fashion with a clear conscience). How awesome is that!

First up we have a bottle (and macro bottle shot) of Amethyst. Most of Liquidus' polishes are based on rocks and minerals. Obviously this is inspired by the mineral Amethyst. And it is a perfect spring color!

Here is one coat of Amethyst. This is a purple polish with a pink shimmer. There is so much awesome pink shimmer that sometimes it even seemed to be duochrome! This is taken with a flash.

Here is two coats of Amethyst. This polish applied like a dream! So smooth and easy! I love it! And the color!? So Spring-y and Easter-y! Can't go wrong!

Next up is Moonstone (bottle and macro bottle shot). Ok, my first thought was hello Cinderella color! Hahaha! I love it! It is inspired by the iridescent blueish gemstone, Moonstone. Also has some micro holographic glitter!

One coat of Moonstone here and my camera is already wiggin' out over the gorgeousness of this polish. Look at how it glows! So icy and fresh! This is taken with a flash.

Two coats of Moonstone just increases the depth and glow of this polish! Again, the polish applied wonderfully! No issues! Such an awesome Spring color!

And last but not least, Stichtite (bottle and macro bottle shot). I got excited for all of these polishes but especially excited for this one! This one is so unique in my collection, I love it! It is inspired by the mineral Stichtite that has lime and purple flecks.

Here is a picture of Stichtite, because I was curious as to what it was! :)

Here is a layer skittle of Stichtite. (l-r) Four coats, 3 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat. This is a totally build-able jelly! As you can see the green base just gets more awesome as it builds! And you know what? No glitter fishing what so ever! Bah! I love it! It has some hex and square glitter too! Win!

Here is one coat of Liquidus Stichtite over China Glaze Def Defying. Just look at all that glitter! So much fun and so perfect for spring!

Wow! This collection is amazing! The formula fabulous! There are two more in the Spring line. A full size polish costs $9 where a mini is $6.

And guess what! Danielle has sent me a discount code for you my lovely Owlet readers! Just use GeekyOwl10off to get 10% off on your purchase over at Liquidus Nail Gloss etsy shop. This code is good for 10 days from today, so act fast! :)

TGIF and Indie Month Day 15 and The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek - It's a Me Mario!

Day 5 (and final day) (so sad to see this week end!) of The Digit-al Does Geek (and still continuing my Indie Month) and it is also TGIF: Thank Goodness, Indy Indie Friday! So I have a fabulous Indie for you: Dollish Polish: It's a Me Mario!

First I started out with two coats of Illamasqua Scorch. Thank you Sephora in JC Penny for having these on sale! Such a pretty white and nice formula!

Here is one coat of Dollish Polish It's a Me Mario. Red and blue glitter with holo stars! How perfect! Now, the red and blue glitter applied very nicely. But I did have to fish for the stars (haha, that's sounds funny!). But you know what, I am not a huge fan of shaped glitter, so I am alright with that! :)

Here is two coats of It's a Me Mario. Oh no, the star I fished out got covered. Have to fish out another! :) But holy cow did I find my 4th of July mani for this year!

I did the same things for the Mario images as I did for my Zelda ones. Printed off small pictures (sized to my nails) and painted over them on a page protector.

I used OPI Candelight and China Glaze Lemon Fizz for the star with Wet N Wild Black Creme and Milani White on the Spot. For the pipe plant I used Catrice King of Greens, China Glaze Starboard, Zoya Sooki, and Milani White on the Spot. For the bullet I used Wet N Wild Black Creme, Zoya Sooki, and Milani White on the Spot.

I just love how this one turned out! So fun, just like the many many games! I remember playing Super Mario Bros when we first got our Nintendo! Had a blast!

Bottle shot of Dollish Polish It's a Me Mario.

You can buy this polish for $8.75 over at Dollish Polish's store.

Indie Month Day 14 and The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek - Pi Day

Day 4 of The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek (and continuing my Indie Month) we have Pi Day! Yep! Pi = 3.14 or today's date of 3/14 (March 14!). Oh yeah! How cool is that! :) This mani was a given when I found out that our Digit-al Dozen week would fall on this day!

Do you see what I did here? Pi....pie. :) This is a Lacquistry Winterberry mathematical pi(e)!

I used OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons (two coats) as my base. On my index finger I used OPI Berlin There Done That as the pie markings. And then used a black Sharpie to make the Pi symbol and the numbers. I used Lacquistry Winterberry to create pie wedges on my middle and ring fingers. I applied two coats of Winterberry (with no base color) to my pinkie.

Lacquistry Winterberry was part of her Holiday 2012 line and is gorgeous! And applied like only a Lacquistry polish can.....fabulously! And it is unique to my collection.

Bottle shot of Lacquistry Winterberry.

You can purchase other gorgeous polishes from Lacquistry at her etsy store (she is restocking with her new line soon!)

Indie Month Day 13 and The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek - The Legend of Zelda

Day 3 of The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek (and continuing my Indie Month) we have The Legend of Zelda featuring Dollish Polish Legend of Zelda Duo. I also had to do this mani because Zelda is a huge deal in my family. I remember playing the game (still do) when it first came out on the original Nintendo!

For those of you not blessed of hearing of or playing this game here is a very brief summary of the storyline for the very first game, The Legend of Zelda (taken from Zelda Universe)
Ganon, the King of Evil, breaks free from the Dark World and captures Hyrule's beloved Princess Zelda. Before she is caught, Zelda manages to shatter the Triforce of Wisdom and scatter its eight pieces throughout Hyrule. Link swears to recover the Triforce pieces and rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon's clutches.

Here is (index finger) two coats of Dollish Polish The Hero of Time over two coats of Catrice King of Greens. I also put two coats of Dollish Polish Hylian Princess over two coats of OPI Steady As She Rose. Look how fabulous the glitter applied! As you can see Hylian Princess is more packed with glitter than The Hero of Time. But both are gorgeous! And both are super easy to apply with no glitter fishing!

I created Zelda images by printing off small pictures (sizing them to my nail size) and then painting over top of them into a page protector. I thought about doing Link's sword but decided against it.

So here we have the iconic Zelda images applied to my nail. For Link's shield I used Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle as the base with China Glaze First Mate, OPI Candlelight, and Zoya Sooki. For the Triforce I used OPI Candlelight and Wet N Wild Black Creme.

Bottle shot of Dollish Polish The Hero of Time

Bottle shot of Dollish Polish Hylian Princess

Hylian Princess is totally unique in my collection. The Hero of Time, I have a few other green/brown glitters but the application/formula of this one is just fabulous! But you can never have too many green/brown glitters in my opinion!

You can buy this polish duo for $17.50 (when it is restocked) over at the Dollish Polish store.
And don't forget to check out Dollish Polish's Facebook page to be kept up-to-date!
